Kohima Traffic Police issues advisory for SAYO rally

Kohima Traffic Police has issued traffic diversions and restrictions for the Southern Angami Youth Organisation rally on Tuesday to ensure smooth movement and public safety.

DIMAPUR — Kohima Traffic Police has announced a series of traffic diversions and restrictions to facilitate a peaceful rally organised by Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) on Tuesday.


According to the advisory, the rally is scheduled to begin at 10 am from PHQ Junction and proceed to the office of the deputy commissioner for the submission of a representation.


Consequently, the traffic regulations will come into effect from 9.30 am and remain in force until the procession concludes.


As part of the diversion plan, vehicles coming from Agri-Forest area towards PHQ will be diverted at Fira Junction towards the Para-Medical area.

Traffic from Para-Medical side heading to TCP Gate will be rerouted via Nagabazaar–Pezielietsie (Tinpatti).


Vehicles proceeding from Pezielietsie (Tinpatti) towards TCP Gate or Box Cutting will also be diverted to the Para-Medical area.


Additionally, vehicle exits from Mezhür Junction and Middle Midland will be restricted during the procession.


Motorists exiting from Martyrs’ Park Junction and PWD Junction will not be allowed to proceed towards TCP Gate until the rally disperses.


Kohima Traffic Police appealed to the public for cooperation, stating that adherence to the temporary regulations will help ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience to commuters.
