Kohima to witness 3rd August rush
The third edition of August rush, an annual fete organised by Richa production will be held on August 14 and 15 at The Heritage in Kohima.
Addressing a press conference on August 11 at The Heritage, Managing Director or Richa production, Dr. Teputo Richa stated the main objective of hosting the event was to provide platform for the talented and Naga artists and entrepreneurs to dislpay and exhibit their talents and products.
A major attraction for this year’s August Rush will be workshops on music production with Rainbow Bridge from Bangalore as facilitators; bamboo products to be trained by Zynorique, baking and cooking skills with Joel Basumatari as the resource person. YouthNet Nagaland will be facilitating the workshop on employment and skill development, he added.
However, the main attraction of this year’s chapter will be the introduction of a new initiative known as ‘Disco Soup’.
Asato Paphino, Coordinator of the Slow Food Youth Network Nagaland said that the Disco Soup is a global event and it will be the first such event to be held in India.
Highlighting about the event, she said disco soup is an international grassroot movement started in 1986 to raise awareness on food waste and preservation and educate the people about food sustainability and recycling. She said renowned chef Joel Basumatri will oversee the event on 15 August.
Other events geared up for the event will be fashion fest where three new designers work will be displayed. The show director of the event will be choreographed by Theja Sekhose.
Another crowd puller of the festival will be an event,” best of August Rush contest” which will be held on August 15 where four final contestants will perform at the show. The final contestants were selected from two audition rounds. The first audition was judged on the participants performance of Medo Kense’s award winning song ‘But I’ in Facebook based on the highest number of likes. In the second audition the selected participants performed live and selected by three judges.
Inviting talented Naga artists and entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and products, the team members asked willing participants to take the opportunity to avail the stalls and exhibition booth for photography, handicrafts, literature, fine arts and food. August Rush is organised in collaboration with The Heritage, Decibel, Pusa Printing Press, Innovations, the Saccharide, Automation Services, Naga Street Style, Theja Sekhoses, Jubal Store, Campsite Yedikha, QSC Audio Products Corporation, Kadence, and Tshetsholo Naro Photography & Videography. Besides its annual event August Rush, Richa Productions works in music production, video production, event management, artist management, and sound systems.
