Kohima to intensify checking at entry points

Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): Kohima district task force (DTF) has decided to intensify checking of entry points especially the Peducha check gate with more manpower and resources involving medical team, police and SDRF for proper screening, details of the persons and sanitisation of the vehicles which also included the essential commodity trucks.

The decision to this effect was taken during its review meeting held under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie inhis office’s chamber on May 2. The meeting was convened to streamline and regulate things for effective implementation of the guidelines during the next two-week extended lockdown, a DIPR report stated.

Addressing the gathering, the deputy commissioner has emphasised on guarding and sealing of boundaries and urged the members to seriously focus on them at this juncture.

The members also stressed on thorough and strict checking of proper documents approved by the concerned states while entering the district at the inter-state check gates by the personnel manning the gates. The members further discussed on other issues pertaining to the prevalent situation, which needs to be regulated during this lockdown.

In another programme, office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima, conducted a basic training for drivers and conductors of the Nagaland State Transport (NST) in its conference hall on May 2. The training was conducted for those drivers and conductors who have been detailed to perform emergency Covid-19 duties.

Dr. Rupert, DIO Kohima, has enlightened the participants on the basic safety measures with proper guidelines and protocols of Covid-19 to be followed while performing their duties. Personal protective equipment (PPE) were also distributed to all the personnel for safety measures.

Station superintendent, Kevilhoutuo Sekhose and yard master, Kekhriengutuo from NST department attended the training along with the drivers and conductors.
