DIMAPUR — Coinciding with the Teacher’s Day celebration, the Zoology department of Kohima Science College (KSC) in Jotsoma village organised a screening of an educational movie at the college conference hall with its principal, Dr. Temjenwabang, as the special guest.

The concept note of the movie was highlighted by Dr. Anungla Pongener, head of Zoology department, who considered the initiative as a realisation of a long-desired personal dream which was to impact the younger generation positively through media platform. She thanked the students for making it into a beautiful movie, an update from the college stated.

Nadia Limarenla Longchari, class representative of B.Sc. 5th semester (Zoology) and the director of the movie, shared their experiences during the making of the humble yet epic movie-making process.

It informed that all the cast and crew were students of Zoology department and the entire exercise was conceptualised, created, participated and sponsored by the department of Zoology with active support and cooperation from the 5th semester students of Zoology department.

The special guest has appreciated the efforts put in by the students and also congratulated the department for the innovative concept and encouraged everyone to continue with the good work.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Lilongchem Thyug, associate professor and coordinator of IQAC at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.

It stated that the programme was well attended by over 70 participants including a visiting team of scientists led by Dr. D. Suresh Chand, Scientist ‘E’ and officer in-charge of Orthoptera Section, Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Kolkata.
