Kohima police seize heroine

Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): Kohima police personnel manning the Khuzama check-gate, while conducting routine duty on Oct. 23, detected 739 grams (approximately) of suspected heroin from a Maruti gypsy vehicle and arrested two persons in this connection.
The Kohima police, through a press note, informed that the heroine was wrapped in polythene and concealed inside plastic cases. The seized drug is estimated to be worth INR 8 lakh in the local market.
The two arrested persons have been identified as one R.K. Hopingson (38 yrs) and L. Rebeca (38 yrs), both hailing from Senapati district under Manipur. A regular case has been registered against them, police said.
Meanwhile, the Kohima police arrested one Shankar Barik (35 yrs) hailing from West Bengal on charges of duping two people of their money to the tune of INR 5,70,000.
The police carried out an investigation and traced the accused person in Daman. With the assistance of the local police from Daman and Diu, the accused was arrested on 12/10/2018 and has been brought to Kohima for further investigation, the police stated.
