Kohima police recover stolen vehicle

Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Kohima police personnel have arrested two persons with one stolen vehicle on September 22 from Phesama check gate and the retrieved vehicle has been handed over to the rightful owner.
A press release issued by Atu Zumvu, SDPO (South) and PRO Kohima Police, said the personnel manning Phesama check gate intercepted one black Mahindra Bolero bearing registration No. NL01H 0297. It stated that during questioning with the driver, one occupant fled from the scene but was later captured after hot pursuit.
During preliminary interrogation, the driver divulged that the said Bolero was handed over to him by one Kevio from TCP Gate, Kohima, with a promised of Rs 5000 to transport the said Bolero to Mao.
Incidentally on September 23, when the police was making enquiry to ascertain the owner of the vehicle, the said owner T Khalo, a prominent resident of AG Colony, Kohima, turned up at South PS to lodge FIR for his lost bolero.
According to release, the owner came to known of his missing vehicle only on September 23. He reportedly parked the vehicle on the road side at AG Colony the previous day after returning from office. The vehicle was handed over to him on zimanamma after observing all the legal formalities.
In this connection, two persons identified as Jakir Husen (25), son of Majir Uddin of Salanama village in Karimganj, Assam, and Raj Kumar (23), son of Arun Tewar of Manipuri village in Khatkhati, Assam, were taken into police custody. A regular case has been registered with the Kohima South Police Station for conducting further investigation.
