Kohima Police issues traffic regulations for Presidential poll
Dimapur, July 16 (EMN): In view of the presidential election 2022 to be held on July 18 at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Kohima Police has issued traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement.
In a press release, PRO of Kohima Police stated that vehicles only with the letter ‘Z’ (white letter with red background for legislators) and ‘Y’ (white letter with green background for concerned departments and media) would be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat. It informed that those vehicles only having car pass would be permitted to proceed towards Assembly Secretariat from Assembly Gate. It added that no escort vehicle/ visitors vehicle would be allowed from that point.
It stated that no vehicle would be allowed parking by the roadside from 6 am onwards during the presidential election from BSNL telephone exchange till Classic Island, from Raj Bhavan till MS Classic Island, from Classic Island to Assembly Secretariat via Razhü point and High School, from New CM official residence, Phezoucha to Assembly Secretariat, and from VVIP residential complex, Thizama, to Assembly Secretariat.
Report also informed that heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during the presidential election session from 6 am till the election process is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 am, it added.
Police further stated that heavy vehicles would not be allowed parking along ‘D’
Block road.
While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, police informed that defaulting vehicles would tow away and the charges would be borne by the vehicles owners.
