Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose, has informed all concerned to mandatorily obtain permit from the office of the Kohima Municipal Council for construction of new building or extension of existing buildings within Kohima Municipality.
Administrator informed that this is to check the numerous problems cause by random and rampant construction works and also to implement the relevant rules of Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001 as follows:-
1. Rule 264- Building etc. not to be erected or constructed without permission
2. Rule 278- Cleaning of streets and removal of solid waste.
3. Rule 287- Removal of solid waste accumulation on non-residential premises.
4. Rule 288- prohibition against accumulation of rubbish
5. Rule 470- punishment for certain offences in contravention to any provision of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001.
6. Rule 471- Fine which may extend to RS. 2,000.
Failure to adhere to the order shall invite necessary punitive action against the defaulter.
