Kohima, August 16

Members of the Lions Club of Kohima (LCK) led by its President Lion Talimangyang Jamir have visited lepers in the Leprosy Colony at Naga Bazar on August 15. During the visitation program at the Leprosy Colony, the Club also presented rice, meats, potatoes, dals, sweets, etc. to the inmates.
LCK used to visit the inmates staying at the Living Accommodation as part of the occasions like Indian Independence Day and Republic Day Celebrations, besides visiting them on the eve of every Christmas as part of the “Pre-Xmas Visiting Programme.”
In a simple function held at the Leprosy Home, Naga Bazaar, the Lions (Members) along with the inmates had a short service before handing over the items to them.
Speaking on the brief occasion, the LCK President reminded the concern and attachment that the members of the LCK had since early 80s. He asked the inmates to feel free with the Lion members and encouraged them to share whatever grievances they had, so that their grievances would be addressed in whatever possible manner. 14 inmates with their family members are here in the Living Accommodation, which was constructed by the Club way back in 1983.
Stressing the importance of peace in their not only State but also elsewhere in the world, the President said the Club would always do their best to see the wellbeing of the inmates living in the Living Accommodation.
One of the elderly inmates also shared their feelings and love with the members of the LCK. “We are really thankful to you—starting from President to other your colleagues—in the Club for showing your personal concern and love for the wellbeing of us who are living in this Living Accommodation,” the inmate said calling the members as “their Parents” who did wonderful works for the inmates. He also prayed for members of the Club to have long lives and more blessings from almighty God in the days to come.
Senior members of the Club, Lion Maren Paul, PMJF, Lion Vitoshe Rochill, MJF, Lion Dr Sashimeren Aier, Lion Oken Jeet Sandham, Secretary, and Lion Er Aroba were among other who accompany the Lion President during the Visit to inmates.
Pastor Gyan Bahadur invoked the God’s blessings for the Members of the Kohima Lions Club and also for the wellbeing of the inmates and their speedy recovery.
