Dimapur, Dec. 13 (EMN): Kohima Law College (KLC) celebrated advent Christmas with the children of Eden Gardens Children Home, Khuzama, on December 11.
Assistant professor of the college and speaker Kezhokhoto Savi stated that the true meaning of Christmas is love. Savi cited the various successful stories of children/ orphanage homes in the country where children from poor background rose up to hold the highest rank/ post, an update from Kohima Law College stated on Sunday.
Savi also encourage the children to cultivate discipline and good moral character to become great men and women one day. He added that to be disciplined in life one has to fear the Lord and constantly read the scripture.
Savi, who is also a social activist, appealed to the elite society to do ‘good’ in this season particularly by reaching out to the ‘needy’ as many families and homes are facing problems due to pandemic.
“Doing goodness to others will always purified your heart, and it will fight any kind of evil which comes your way. Plant goodness wherever you go because no one shall harvest that goodness except the one who has planted it,” Savi stated.
The teaching and non-teaching staff of Kohima Law College also donated three bags of rice, dal, sweets and few Christmas cakes to the children of Eden Gardens. The college has appealed to the state government particularly the concerned department dealing with rice and other food items under the National Food Security Act to be more fair and honest by helping the weaker sections and homes. It also reminded the state government to constitute the Food Commission in the state at the earliest.
The programme was led by assistant professor Soni, while an invocation was said by assistant professor Moasenla and the administrator of the college Limaakum exhorted the children. The programme concluded with a benediction said by Fr. Raymond.
