Kohima hosts workshop about basics of mass building

Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): A workshop about the basics of mass building, or ‘body building’ and nutrition was conducted at the VDB hall in P Khel pf Kohima village on May 9. The event was hosted by a group called the Nagaland Body Building & Fitness Association (NBBFA).
The organisation press release stated that during the event a medical practitioner Dr. Kevisilie Belho defined physiotherapy as the use of physical means to prevent injuries, to treat both injury and disease and to assist the process of rehabilitation by developing and restoring the function of the body. According to him physiotherapy helps people of all ages, who have medical condition illness or injuries that limit their regular ability to move and function.
Belho also spoke about some of the benefits of physiotherapy such as reduction of or elimination of pain, improving mobility, aiding recovery from or preventing injury, aiding recovery from stroke, improving balance and preventing falls; managing age-related issues, managing diabetes and vascular condition, manage heart and lung disease/cardiopulmonary condition, manage women’s health etc.
According to Belho the main role of a working physiotherapist among bodybuilders and power lifters was to prevent injury and plan rehabilitation programmes for quick recovery. He also spoke about two primary causes of gym and weightlifting-related injuries are poor posture and over training. Some of the common injuries in body building, according to him are muscle pull and strain, shoulder injury, low back pain and strain, knee injury, pectoral injury etc.
Moalong, a trainer, also spoke about physique competitions which he said has become a popular sport. He such that such competitions were aimed at men who prefer to develop a less muscular, yet athletic and aesthetically pleasing physique.
The trainer also spoke about different categories, and rules besides giving helpful tips to the participants at the event. He has emphasised on the importance of supplementation and the need to take it at the right time in right proportion and proper consultation.
Also, Amit Sharma from Stamin millennium Nutraceuticals Pvt Ltd, highlighted at the programme that Stamin supplements was one of the top-selling brands in India. It was started in 2000, he informed. He spoke about the quality and benefits of weight, mega mass gold standard, muscle gainer, whey protein, creatine, cell power, insta power and stamin pro 3 and 7. He said that body builders need to identify genuine certified supplement companies to avoid health risks.
The workshop concluded with feedbacks and discussion, the updates informed.
