Dimapur, March 9 (EMN): A dental clinic — Clover Dental Clinic – specialised in root canal treatment was inaugurated by former director of SCERT Vipralhou Kesiezhe at Sepfüzou colony (high school road) in Kohima on March 9. The new facility was dedicated by senior pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church, Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo.

The proprietor of the dental clinic, Dr. Nikenlemla Imchen MSD (Cons and Endo), is an alumnus of Darshan Dental College and Hospital Rajasthan, a certified specialist in endodontics (root canal treatment) and conservative dentistry, informed an update received here on Monday.

Kesiezhe congratulated Dr. Imchen for her courage, ambition and dream; opening the clinic for the service of the people. He also appreciated the present Naga youths, who unlike in the past when people hunt got government jobs, have started venturing in the private sector and becoming more self-dependent.

He expressed hope that courageous youths like Dr. Imchen would take the society forward and that self-dependent youths are the real asset of the society. He also lauded her parents and relatives for supporting her in her noble venture, adding that the facility would be a blessing and a gift for the people of Kohima district.

Rev. Kiewhuo said during the programme that Dr. Imchen was the only practicing endodontist in Kohima. He said that the clinic would help people who have tooth problems and needed special care from a specialist.

Dr. Imchen said that he had always dreamed of putting her talent and specialisation in serving the people by starting a dental clinic. She informed that she had worked at Kachhwa Mission Hospital in Uttar Pradesh (a hospital under the Emmanuel Hospital Association) and served as a senior lecturer at Darshan Dental College & Hospital Rajasthan after her post graduation.

She also thanked her parents, well-wishers and all those present at the inaugural programme.

“Root canal treatment treats the soft pulp tissue inside the tooth. It is a treatment to repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth instead of removing it. The procedure involves removing the damaged area of the tooth (the pulp) and cleaning and disinfecting it, then filling and sealing it. The common causes affecting the pulp are a cracked tooth, a deep cavity, repeated dental treatment to the tooth or trauma to it,” the update read.
