Kohima Football League to begin today

Dimapur, June 7 (EMN): The 3rd edition of the Kohima Football League will begin on Saturday June 8 at IG Stadium in Kohima.

The inaugural ceremony, scheduled at 12 noon, will be attended by advisor of youth resources and sports Er. Zale Neikha, as the special guest. The welcome address will be delivered by KTC president Dr. Viketoulie Pienyü and oath taking by technical committee member Kechangulie Dul.

Defending champions Sechü Zubza FC  along with six other teams including Vanguard FC Tseminyu, Khriekesa FC Meriema, Forerunners FC Thizama, United 16 FC, Kohima along with debutants Kohima Eagles FC and A. Yhome FC will be vying for the coveted league title.

This edition, the champions will recieve a cash prize of INR 1,20,000 along with running trophy and citations while the runners-up will receive INR 80,000.

Individual prize includes best coach, best defender, best goal keeper, highest scorer, best midfielder, player of the league and best fans club. The month long tournament will conclude on June 26.

Kohima Football League mobile app launched

In an attempt to attract the football fans and youths in the state, the Kohima Town Club has introduced Kohima Football League app for the first time in the state. This app was released on Friday by the Kohima Town Club.

One can download the KFL app to check out the latest updates, match schedules, match results, point standings, players profile and other information related to the league from the app.
