Kohima, July 31 (EMN): The Kohima Town Club is all set to organise its first edition of Kohima Football League (KFL), 2017 from August 9 to 31 at Kohima local ground, a press release was issued by Head Information and Media KTC on Monday.
Eight teams namely United 16 FC Kohima, Forerunners FC Thizama, Khriekesa FC Meriema, Power Comm FC Kohima, New Market FC Kohima, Ziekezou Sporting Club Kohima, Nagabazar Football Club Kohima and Addax FC D Khel are participating in the first edition.
During the league, two matches will be played on a daily basis, further 40 % of the daily revenue (10 % each to all the 4 teams) will be shared with the local clubs per match.
The teams will play a single tier league to decide the KFL, 2017 champion. Cash prizes for the top four teams in order of ranking in the league and individual prizes are in the offing.
While the season ticket is fixed at Rs.1000/- per head with 5 lucky draws with gift hampers and the gallery ticket is fixed at Rs.30 per head.
It may be mentioned that the Kohima Football League 2017 initiated by the Kohima Town Club was launched on June 17 this year keeping in mind to start a professional league in order to promote and develop the standard of football in Nagaland, and also focus on promoting Club culture and professionalism in players.
The Kohima Town Club (KTC) was formed on December 1, 2016, under the motto, “For the Community, for the Game” consisting of 18 members.
