Members of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) took a day-out to Seihake in Khonoma under Kohima district on November 15. Exhorting the members, Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Justice, Dr. Nicky Kire, said Kohima District Planning & Development Board has been “improving over the years.” He lauded the various activities being taken up by the board including the Village Vision Cell and the Back to the Roots programme among others.
Referring to the attendance in DPDB meetings, Dr. Kire said attendance in the board meetings is ‘improving and every officer should give importance to such forums.’ He also spoke on maintaining “dust-bin free zones and proper garbage collection.”
Also, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Public Relation (IPR), Kropol Vitsu, remarked his first experience of the day out as very encouraging. He has sought the members to give ‘importance to the various schemes being taken up.’
Commenting on the road widening project taken up in Khonoma and in the neighboring areas, Kropol said the facility would be a ‘very good connectivity not only for nearby areas but with other districts as well.’
Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Vikho-o Yhoshu, also spoke during the occasion. Advisor to Music Task Force, Khriehu Liezietsu, has released a newsletter on development and environment titled “Towards Conservation.” The newsletter was published by the District Soil Conservation Office of Kohima.
