Kohima DPDB recommends upgradation of Tseminyu sub-division to district
Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has recommended the upgrading of Tseminyu sub-division to that of Tseminyu district to the government for consideration.
An update from DIPR informed that this was decided in its monthly DPDB meeting at the DPDB’s Conference Hall, Kohima on Monday.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of DPDB Chairman and Advisor for Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha.
It said that Advisor, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Women Resources, R Khing and ADC Tseminyu, W Manpai Phom highlighted the aspirations of Rengma tribe on the demand for upgrading of Tseminyu sub-division and the key records of the sub-division to the House. Other Legislators present in the meeting, Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Dr. Neikiesalie Kire and MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro and Vice President of Angami Public Organisation (APO), Neivor Rutsa expressed their support for recommendation of the proposal to the Government during the deliberation, it said.
On the agenda for upgrading of Public Health Centre, Sechü Zubza to Community Health Centre, MLA Nakhro pressed upon the requirement for upgrading of the existing PHC to CHC as it located on the national highway where medical services with more facilities can be provided in times of emergencies as well as to the area people. It said that the house deliberated on the matter along with the report submitted by CMO Kohima and further decided to recommend the matter to the Government for consideration.
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Gregory Thejawelie also reminded the village adoption committees to initiate and activate the plan process of the adoption activities by the next DPDB meeting, it added.
