Kohima DPDB approves three projects

Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) in its monthly meeting on Thursday held at the board’s conference hall, discussed recasting of iconic projects under 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 and approved three projects.

According to DIPR update, under 15th Southern Angami-II assembly constituency (AC), construction of rostrum at R-Khel, Viswema to be replaced with construction of waiting shed;  under 10th Northern Angami-I AC, Children’s Park at Ziekezou Kohima village to be replaced with approach road from Kohima village ground to Government Primary Health Centre at Ziekezou, Kohima village; and under 2020-2021, connection of road from Potter Lane to AG road to be replaced with completion of pay and use toilet, opposite to Ao Church under 9th Kohima town AC.

Welcoming the members in his first DPDB meeting, the new deputy commissioner (DC) of Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A, said that it was a privilege and honour to work with all the dedicated and sincere officers of Kohima district.

He said the DPDB is an important platform where various issues can be discussed with holistic views by the members, and therefore requested them to take it seriously and attend the meeting regularly.

He further sought full co-operation of the members in combating the Covid-19 pandemic, conducting the election and in all the developmental activities of the district.

In regard to the upcoming bye-election to 14-Southern Angami-I AC, the DC urged the members to sensitise the people in their respective areas to strictly follow the protocol and standard operating procedures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. He further called upon the citizens to take their responsibilities and challenges effectively to have free, fair and safe election in the district.
