Kohima DLSA organises legal awareness prog. at Chiechama village

Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): The Kohima DLSA organised a legal awareness programme on various welfare schemes, rights and privileges of the people at Chiechama village. The event was chaired by panel lawyer Medochiituo Kiewhuo, informed public relations assistant of the association. Keduvi Zhotso PL, who spoke on right of women, told the gathering that crimes against women and child should be eradicated from the society and their rights protected. Apila Sangtam PL spoke on various welfare schemes for women under Social Welfare department at the programme. She informed the participants on how to register for various schemes like ICDS, POSHAN Abhiyaan, Angawadi centres, PMMVY, vocation training for adolescent girls, old age pension schemes, schemes on disability, national family benefit scheme, Nagaland adolescents girls club etc Speaking on the topic “Rights to Free Legal Aid,” Vikehiepie Sirie PL shared about the working procedures of legal services, free legal aid, who are entitled for such services etc.
