Kohima District Open Volleyball Tournament to conclude today

Kohima, Nov. 26 (EMN): Four teams — Chenino Brothers, Michazou Mima, Khonoma Youth Organisation, and Kiruphema Youth Organisation — entered the semi-finals of the Kohima District Open Volleyball Tournament men’s category at Khuochiezie local ground in Kohima on Tuesday, November 26.

Playing the quarter-final round after the league matches, Kiruphema Youth Organisation defeated Fun Club Peducha in the first match while Michazou Mima defeated United Sporting Club in the second match.

In the third match of the day, Chenino Brothers defeated Nexus Club while Khonoma Youth Organisation defeated defending champions Phesama Youth Organissation in the fourth match.

The semi-final rounds will commence at 10 am which will be followed by the final match at 1 pm on Wednesday.

Playing the round-robin league system on day-two, Elite Sisters defeated Tiema Khe Kedima in the women’s volleyball competition during the first match while they overcame Tiema Khe Kedima and St. Joseph’s College Jakhama in their second and third match respectively.

Kezo Town Youth Organisation defeated Khonoma Youth Organisation in their match while they beat Tiema Khe Kedima in their second match. Khonoma Youth Organisation defeated St. Joseph’s College Jakhama in the fifth match.

In women’s volleyball, there will be one more league round on Wednesday where two teams with the highest points will clash in the final match on the same day. The first match will begin at 10 am.
