Kohima district-level indigenous games competition on March 27
Dimapur, March 11 (EMN): Kohima district-level indigenous games competition will be held on March 27 at IG stadium in Kohima.
District Sports Officer, Kohima, Dziesebeinuo Vizo informed that the competition would be conducted in various disciplines like tug of war for both men and women ( eight participants each), stilt bamboo race (men), greased bamboo pole climbing (men) and cock fight (men), a DIPR update informed.
It informed that the winners would be awarded with certificates along with cash prize of INR 10,000, INR 7,000 and INR 5,000 for first, second and third positions respectively in tug of war. Meanwhile, for stilt bamboo race, greased bamboo pole climbing and cock fight the first, second and third position winners would be awarded INR 3,000, INR 2,000INR and INR 1,000 respectively. It added that the winners from each discipline would represent Kohima district at the forthcoming state- level indigenous games competition to be held on April 8 and 9 at IG Stadium, Kohima.
