The Kohima District Inter High School Basketball Tournament begins in Kohima with 28 school teams taking part.

DIMAPUR — The second edition of the Kohima District Inter High School Basketball Tournament, organised by the Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA), began on Thursday at 13 Assam Rifles (AR), D Block, Kohima.
Neidilhou Keditsu, Director of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, attended the inaugural session as the chief guest.
According to an update, he appreciated the KDBA for organising the tournament and encouraged the participating teams to keep team spirit in mind while wishing them the best as they compete for the championship title.
Addressing the gathering, KDBA President Khrielasakuo Keretsü encouraged the players to remember that basketball is not only about winning. He stated that it teaches discipline, teamwork, perseverance, respect, and sportsmanship, adding that while there will be victories and disappointments, both are part of the journey.

The president also informed that the association has 14 dynamic members committed to providing opportunities for young people to develop their talents and grow through basketball. He expressed hope that the tournament will continue to grow and inspire more young athletes in the years to come.
A total of 28 teams, comprising 19 boys' teams and nine girls' teams from various schools across Kohima district, are participating in the three-day tournament.
Hundreds of participants, including students, teachers, school administrators, principals, and basketball enthusiasts, took part on the first day of the tournament, which will conclude on October 3.
