KOHIMA — The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) held a thanksgiving programme at Hotel 2K, Kohima, to celebrate and reflect on the team’s journey at the Dr. T Ao Trophy: 24th Inter-District Football Championship, on August 24.
KDFA President Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the importance of discipline and long-term vision, stated an update.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, he urged the players to stay fit, set clear goals, and chase them with sincerity and hard work. At the same time, he reminded the young athletes pursuing their studies not to lose sight of their academic commitments, stressing that education and sport must go hand in hand.
Team manager and KDFA Finance Secretary Metekhrielie Mejura highlighted the team’s managerial aspects and acknowledged all who had supported the team financially, physically, and materially.

Team coach Kechi Kulimbe lauded the squad’s commitment and reflected on the matches played till the semi-finals. He praised the determination of the upcoming young players and encouraged them to prepare for tougher challenges ahead.
Team captain, Kevisanyü Peseyie, shared his experience, urging his teammates to continue striving to bring pride and laurels to Kohima district in future championships.
Thejanugulie Zatsu, who was adjudged best defender of the championship, also spoke briefly about his experience and expressed gratitude to KDFA for the opportunity to represent the district.
