Dimapur, June 9 (EMN): The Catholic church, with an initiative of the Diocese of Kohima Covid-19 Task Force (DKCTF), has announced to observe fifty hours of continuous prayer with the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament beginning from June 9 at 10 am to the 11th at 12 noon.

An update from the diocese informed that parishes and religious communities spread across the state of Nagaland would take part in the chain prayers and adoration praying for the frontline workers namely doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, police personnel, civil authority, infected persons and all who are directly or indirectly involved in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic and also seek God’s blessings upon the suffering humanity.

It stated that the conclusion of the fifty hours would be led by the bishop of Kohima, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, at the Cathedral on June 11 from 11 am to 12 noon. It has invited everyone to be part of the prayer chain.

DKCTF, manned by priests, religious and laity, has helped the needy with dry ration, medical assistance and provided 24×7 counselling services. It has also set up a control room functioning round the clock from Peace Channel’s office at Bishop’s House, Dimapur.
