KOHIMA — The long-anticipated golden jubilee celebration of the Kohima diocese began on Friday with a reception ceremony for delegates and bishops, both domestic and international, at the Mary Help of Christians Cathedral in Kohima.
A large congregation of faithful led by the bishop of Kohima diocese, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, received the delegates. The reception ceremony also witnessed a spirited performance by the brass band of St. Mary's Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Later, the congregation, consisting of faithful from across the state, filled the Cathedral for the "Holy Rosary and Confession" service.
On Saturday, the programme would include a mass at 9:30 am, unveiling of the jubilee plaque, Holy Eucharist, a Marian procession, and a cultural night with the Governor of Nagaland as the special guest and the Nagaland Chief Minister as the guest of honour.
The Sunday's programme would feature Holy Eucharist at 9:30 am followed by a jubilee feast.
