Kohima DC B Henok Buchem conducted a field visit to Viswema and Jakhama to review the ongoing House Listing and Housing Census as part of Census 2027.
DIMAPUR — Kohima Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Principal Census Officer B Henok Buchem undertook a field visit to Viswema and Jakhama on Monday to review the ongoing House Listing and Housing Census (Phase I) under the Census of India 2027.
He was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Jakhama Vineikho Tetso and Extra Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Kohima Dr. Riku Khutso, according to a DIPR report.
During the visit, the DC inspected the Census 2027 operations, marking his first official visit to both villages. He also congratulated the newly elected members of the Viswema Village Council and the Jakhama Village Council.
The field inspection was part of a district-wide tour covering all Census Charge Areas under the Kohima district to monitor the quality and accuracy of data collection and strengthen coordination among census officials.

Interacting with the village authorities and other stakeholders, the officials urged them to extend their full cooperation to the census staff to ensure an accurate and inclusive exercise.
The DC remarked that the Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) is one of the most effective organisations and has consistently extended valuable cooperation to the district administration on various occasions.
The programme was held separately in the two villages, with the first interaction conducted at Viswema, followed by the second at Jakhama. Both programmes were attended by village council members, gaon buras (GBs), and representatives of women's organisations.
Later, the DC visited the Sub-Divisional Office in Jakhama, where he interacted with the officers and staff and reviewed its functioning.
