Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): The district administration of Kohima has issued an eviction notice in connection with unauthorised occupation of government land in the premises of government quarters at lower New Minister’s Hill in Kohima. The administration has warned that necessary force will be used.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued an update on Monday informing about the administration’s notice.

Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie issued the eviction notice through the sanction of section 5 (1) and section 6 (1) of the Nagaland Eviction of Persons in Unauthorised Occupation of Public Land Act 1971, the updates stated.

The notice is in connection with unauthorised occupation of government land within the premises of government quarters at lower New Minister’s Hill, near the CRPF camp in Kohima, the updates stated.

“And whereas the incumbent have failed to comply with the notice dated 03/06/2019 and 12/09/2019 to evict the illegally occupied land within the stipulated time and have further constructed illegal structures which is necessary to evict such unauthorised structure by the government,” the IPR stated.

The district administration has ordered that the unauthorised occupier will be evicted by using ‘necessary’ force on October 24, the updates stated.

‘The order also added that the cost for execution during eviction shall be borne by the evictee. In this regard, DC has directed Longosen Lotha SDO (C) Sadar to carry out the execution of this order by using necessary police security,’ the IPR added.
