Kohima college hosts floriculture training

Kohima college - Copy Dimapur, March 16 (EMN): A one day training-cum-demonstration programme on floriculture was held at Kohima College, Kohima, in collaboration with the directorate of Horticulture, under RUSA vocationalization scheme on March 15 last. The training-cum-demonstration was chaired by Nohol Rhetso, coordinator of RUSA and associate professor of Kohima College, Kevingonu Rose, as recorder while the institut’s vice-principal, Thinuokhrienuo, delivered the welcome address. According to après release, Eluba, assistant horticulture officer gave a brief introduction on horticulture, while Watila Longkumer from north Bengal floriculture, stressed on the scopes, concepts and prospects of floricultural. “Euorica Liya Garod from ZOPAR, did PPT on lilium, Abhuroop Mitra from KF Bioplant, Pvt. Ltd., did PPT on oportunites (sic) and marketing of jelbera, Pranab Banerjee, Zonal Development Manager-East from Agrinos Pvt. Ltd., delivered a lecture on cultural practices of floriculture,” it stated. Five resource persons, faculty, staff and students attended the programme, it was infiormed. “The closing remark and certificate distribution was conducted by Dziesebeinuo Yhome, assistant professor and convener, Friends of Nature Club, Kohima College, Kohima.
