Dimapur, May 4 (EMN): A music concert was held as part of the Inter-Government College Olympics 2019 organized by the department of Higher Education in collaboration with the Music Task Force; and a local sound service Audio Garage, on May 4 evening at the Kohima College in Kohima.
The college issued a press release on Saturday informing about the event.
The governor of Nagaland PB Acharya was the “principal guest” of the programme, the updates stated.
In his address to the event, he was stated to have said that the Naga people were talented ‘but have less canvas to fully empower themselves as there are (fewer) opportunities.’
"Knowledge is great, but knowledge with empowerment is powerful and empowerment by education is the most powerful empowerment," he said.
The governor stated also that the strength of the country was in its population, with 63% of the population being the youths. ‘Nagaland now requires skill-based education,’ he said. He hoped for ‘an economically strong Nagaland,’ the press release added.
