Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): Kohima College celebrated its 52nd Cultural-cum-food fest with the theme “Promote and Enrich Culture” at the college courtyard on Monday. Theja Meru, advisor, Task Force of Music and Arts (TaFMA) was the special guest of the event.
Speaking at the festival, Meru emphasised on an acronym of his own MAD, which stands for MEASURE your progress daily, determine your ATTITUDE and DARE to dream big, informed an update from the mass media cell of the college. He also narrated an example of the famous band The Beatles that staged 1200 concerts before it finally became successful.
Stressing on the future plans of the TaFMA, Meru said that the best band from each district will be given a platform in the upcoming Hornbill Rock Concert (audition on September 27, 2019), and a choir comprising of the best will represent Nagaland in Belgium in 2020 (audition in September 2019). He also encouraged the students to keep striving; to persevere; and to make their dreams come true.
The programme witnessed various performances, including folk tune and folk dance by the Chakhesang and Sumi tribes, and Folk Fusion by the L.B.U band before food fest commenced. It was chaired by Dr. Ralimongla, principal of Kohima College.
