Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): A boy from Kohima has donated his entire savings to the cause of people affected by the lockdown currently in place to prevent the Coronavirus pandemic from spreading.

Five-year-old Megovizo Rino, son of Rokophrezo Rocus Rino of Jotsoma village in Kohima district, has donated his piggy bank to Kohima district administration officials.

The donation is his contribution to helping people affected by the course of the lockdown.

Nagaland is in lockdown, part of a nationwide measure to contain the Coronavirus pandemic from spreading.

The total amount of the money he donated is INR 3150, commentators on social media say.

The money is the little boy’s savings, according to the messages and images being circulated online.

Reportedly, he had been saving the money for ‘many years’ to buy a bike.

The boy is reportedly a student of St. Andrew School at Jotsoma village. He is studying in class-B, an update on Facebook states.

Earlier on April 6 a boy from Zunheboto district also made a similar donation.

The department of Information and Public Relations reported that the 7-year-old Kitheka I Khujumi donated his ‘pocket money’ to the district’s administration.
