Kohima bids farewell to outgoing DC

Dimapur, Jan. 19 (EMN): Kohima district has organised a farewell programme in honour of the outgoing deputy commissioner of Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A, in DC’s office conference hall on January 19.

The outgoing DC, in his farewell speech, thanked everyone for their unconditional love and support. He has attributed all the successes to the collective efforts put in by concerned officers during his tenure in the office. He has particularly thanked the Angami Public Organisation (APO), Rengma Hoho (RH), various organisations/ agencies, GBs, DBs, administrative officers, line departments for their assistance and support towards the achievements, a DIPR report stated.

Dwelling on the ongoing activities in the district, Mohammed Ali pointed out that land issue pertaining to the Kohima Science College at Jotsoma was approved by the cabinet on December 18 last for further necessary action with the collective support and assistance from the principal secretary to CM, ANSU, principal of Science College and Jotsoma Village Council. Also mentioning about some ongoing road activities in Kohima, he expressed optimism to achieve some logistic conclusion very soon.

Also speaking on the occasion, the additional deputy commissioner of Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, appreciated the outgoing DC for his good coordination with the high authority through which many things could be achieved in a record time. She said that the outgoing DC joined the office on October 9, 2020, at a time when the nomination was taking place for the Southern Angami bye-election amidst Covid pandemic. She stated that the outgoing DC willingly took up the challenges and conducted peaceful and safe elections by maintaining all Covid protocols. The ADC also pointed out that under his initiatives, the departmental promotion committee (DPC) for the welfare of DC’s staff would be able to take up during the pandemic and got approval from the Cabinet.

Superintendent of police, Kohima, Manoj Kumar, who also spoke on the occasion expressed his admiration on the quality of positive attitude upheld by the outgoing DC. He has attributed all the successes to the contributions made by the outgoing DC during his short tenure and added that his sincerity and dedication had set an example for everyone to follow.

The farewell programme was chaired by EAC (Sadar), Kevingoto Kulnu, while invocation was offered by Ketuoravi Marina and a song was presented by Dobashis of DC’s office, Kohima.
