Kohima bids adieu to Talitemjen Ao
Leaders and well-wishers paying their last respect to P Talitemjen Ao during the home going service in Kohima on Friday.

Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): The home going service of P Talitemjen Ao was held on July 29 at The Heritage, Officers’ Hill, Kohima, where a host of dignitaries, government officials, representatives of various public organisations and well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects to a man who had dedicated his whole life to the welfare of the people and had served the government of Nagaland in various capacities even after his retirement.

A DIPR report stated that many have eulogised him as a role model for all- young and old, and his integrity and dedication during his service. They have described him as a man of few words who chose to lead by example, whose contributions to the state are unmatched. It stated that one notable achievement under his leadership was the setting up of the Nagaland Information Commission, who subsequently became the first chief information commissioner of the state.

After the home going service, the mortal remains of P Talitemjen Ao was taken to his native village Akhoya in Mokokchung district, where he would be laid to rest.

Patton, Kronu condole demise of Talitemjen

The deputy chief minister, Y Patton, has condoled the demise of P Talitemjen Ao, former Nagaland chief secretary and former chief information commissioner. Patton said Talitemjen was one among the finest breed of bureaucrats Nagaland has produced, who was efficient and honest. Patton also stated that Talitemjen steered the Information Commission with dedication and transparency, when he was the chief information commissioner of the state. He further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

In another statement, minister of Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu, while expressing sadness on the passing away of P Talitemjen Ao, described him as s humble and dedicated person, who had served the government in various capacities with utmost sincerity.

Kronu further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant them comfort and strength in their hour of grief.
