Kohima administration sponsors 40 students for DCA course

DIMAPUR — Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, the Kohima district administration, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Kohima, has decided to sponsor 40 students to undergo course in Diploma in Computer Application (DCA).

An update from the nodal officer of Mission Shakti and EAC of Kohima, Moasunep K Jingru, informed that the programme was launched for the first batch on October 13 at DPDB hall of the deputy commissioner’ office, Kohima.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, stressed on the significance of the computer course in today’s digital world and urged the applicants to focus on learning and not merely on obtaining a certificate. He also encouraged the students to work hard with an aim to not only get a job but become employers someday.

Also speaking on the occasion, Kiviboto Shequi, managing director of Pioneer Institute, has highlighted on the importance of DCA courses. He mentioned on Pioneer Institute is working in partnership with NEILIT Kohima. He informed that an additional 10 students would be offered free DCA course under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme as part of Pioneer’s philanthropic work.

The event began with a presentation on overview of BBBP scheme by Moasunep K Jingru. He also announced that the first batch comprising 32 students have been selected for the scheme.

Rhosietho Nguori, additional deputy commissioner of Kohima, delivered the welcome address, wherein he encouraged the students to take up the course seriously. He further wished the programme a grand success.
