Kobulong declared first LED town in Mkg

[caption id="attachment_81246" align="aligncenter" width="600"]led EAC Kobulong Trongdiba Tongpi and villagers with LED bulbs after the launching of UJALA Scheme at Kubolong town on October 31.[/caption]   DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31: UJALA scheme, a LED based Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme, was launched in Kubolong town by EAC Kobulong Trongdiba Tongpi on October 31 and was declared as the first Light-Emitting Diode (LED) town under Mokokchung district. Around 300 LED bulbs were distributed to the citizens’ of Kobulong after a brief programme at the town. Kobulong consumed around 4050 units in a month, however, EAC Trongdiba said with the introduction of LED bulbs in each household, it is assumed that the power will be slashed down to half of the present consumption. He also said the launching programme at Kubolong town is the first phase and will be soon covering the other villages under Asetkong. Kobulong is a sub-division of Asetkong range, some 20 km away from the district headquarter Mokokchung and has a populace of around 100 households.
