Kohima, June 11(EMN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has revised the rate of chicken and ducks to be sold in the market.
In an order, KMC administrator Kovi Meyase stated that the decision to revise the rate of chicken and ducks was taken during a meeting with the fowls traders’ union and wholesalers of chicken and duck within the KMC jurisdiction on June 4 at KMC office. The approved revised rate of chicken and ducts are as follows:
The order also stated that all the shopkeepers should display the approved rate chart in their premises and made mandatory to use digital weighing machine and wearing of apron. Shopkeepers are directed to maintain hygiene.
Shopkeepers are also directed to maintain social distancing and entertain only one customer at a time. It advised the customers to wear masks and wash their hands before and after buying the goods.
It order also stated that no item should be sold beyond the fixed rate and to stop the import till new rate is approved. It added that defaulters of any of the above mentioned would be dealt with sternly.
Meyase informed this reporter that KMC had begun checking and seized chicken from those who were found selling at exorbitant rate. He further informed the public to contact the chief inspector on phone no. 9436001900 for any complaints.
