WITH a view to keeping Kohima town clean and green and also keeping in mind the forthcoming Statehood golden jubilee celebration and festive season, the Kohima Municipal Council has strictly prohibited sticking and putting up of posters on the walls within its jurisdiction.Informing this to the general public, shops and business establishments, KMC CEO Elizabeth Ngully, in a release today, also said to put up any banner or hoarding, approval of the KMC is required. The release said this is in continuation of the earlier office orders in this connection.
The KMC further directed all shops/business establishments to clean/dust the shutters/entrance doors to their shops at least once a week and also to paint the shutters/doors properly so that the old paints do not show.
It reminded all the residents and business community not to throw any waste/garbage on the roadsides or drains.
The KMC also directed all hotels with lodging facility within the municipal jurisdiction to maintain reasonable tariff, use commercial LPG cylinders for cooking and maintain proper hygiene for the convenience and safety of the guests.
Failing to comply with the instructions, KMC will take action without any further notice, the release warned.
