KMC fixes prices of essential commodities

Kohima, Aug. 3 (EMN):
In partial modification to its earlier order on April 28, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on August 3 fixed the following retail rates of essential commodities and it will be in fore till further order.
Vegetables such as tomato (kharpetia) has been fixed at INR 75/kg ; tomato (local) – INR 25/kg; green chilly (tepa) – INR 60/kg; green chilly (micro) – INR 140/kg; beans (big) – INR 40/kg , beans (small) – INR 30/kg; cabbage – INR 25/kg; brinjal – INR 35/kg; bitter gourd (big) – INR 50/kg; bitter gourd (small) – INR 40/kg; cauliflower – INR 90/kg; garlic (big) – INR 160/kg; garlic (small) – INR 140/kg; cucumber – INR 25/kg; onion – INR 40/kg and potato – INR 40/kg.
Items like rice (Andhra/Arham) is fixed at INR 2,000/bag and INR 50/kg; masoor daal (daal) – INR 80/kg; masoor dal (medium) – INR 100/kg; masoor dal (small) – INR 90/kg; moong daal – INR 120/kg; arhar daal – INR 110/kg; sugar – INR 50/kg and egg – INR 170/plate.

The administrator of KMC, Kovi Meyase, through an order directed all the shopkeepers to adhere to the new rates and warned that action would be taken against the defaulters.

Meanwhile, public has been requested to inform the municipal office if the same is not being followed. In case of any complaints, the same may be lodged through the mobile numbers: 9436001900 / 9366916771.

It also reminded that traders and customers should mandatorily follow all SOP guidelines during business.
