Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): Kohima Law College (KLC) conducted a one-day special session on Consumer Protection Act, 2019, with the LL.B 1st semester students with the assistant professor, Kezhokhoto Savi, as the resource person.

Speaking at the programme, Savi recounted the representation submitted by the Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) urging the government to come out with a new syllabus on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, as the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, was no more applicable.

Savi stated that the special session on Consumer Protection Act 2019 was initiated as it was imperative for every citizen/consumer to be aware of their rights. He further stated that awareness was still lacking among the consumers particularly in relation to defects of goods and deficiency in services.

In this regards, Savi urged the consumers to understand their rights. He also stated that NVCO would be conducting more awareness campaigns on Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
