Kohima, Jan. 9 (EMN): The five-day long 40th sports meet 2023 of Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Sports’ Association (KKTSA) commenced at Sports Complex, Pfutsero on Monday.
Minister of Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu attended the occasion as special guest. He called upon the youth to take up sports professionally, while expounding on the opportunities in sports.
He also challenged sportspersons to strive for national and international sports arena.
Meanwhile, guest of honour of the event, Dr. Neisatuo Mero, intending candidate for the upcoming state assembly elections, maintained that sports promote a healthy society.
He called upon the youth to develop the spirit of peace through sports.
Earlier, KKTSA president, Kewete Mero, delivered the presidential address while Wede Mero administered the oath to the eight participating teams.
The meet will culminate on January 13.
