DIMAPUR — In the latest episode of India’s Got Talent (IGT) Season 10, the IRB Mahila band of the 15th NAP, who are on the top 8, performed the songs ‘Babuji Dheere Chalna’ from the 1954 movie ‘Aar Paar’ and ‘Fifi (Jata Kaha Hai Deewane)’ from the 2015 movie ‘Bombay Velvet’ dressed up in sarees.

The episode was telecast on October 14.

IGT Season 10 judge and rapper/songwriter Badshah remarked on the occasion that the band always performed rock-based songs, and he wanted to listen to them perform Indian elements, and with their performances of ‘Babuji Dheere Chalna’ and ‘Fifi’, which were amazing and beautiful, they nailed it.

Fellow judge Kirron Kher praised the band for their outfit and hairstyle and for taking them to the classic era. She commented, “I love you guys from the Northeast. You are all talented, and thank you for coming to India’s Got Talent.”

Tollywood actor Ravi Teja, who was at the IGT with actresses Gayatri Bhardwaj and Nupur Sanon to promote their upcoming film ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’, applauded their performances, calling them ‘superb’, and added that the songs performed by them are among his favourites.

With a few people on social media criticising the Mahila band for their song selection, a band member clarified on social media that they have no control over song choices because the songs are assigned to them by the music director/coach.
