The former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman hopes for more exposure for the players
DIMAPUR, MAY 25: Former Indian cricketer, Kiran More visited the ongoing BCCI-sponsored coaching camp for under-16 cricketers for the north east region under the guidance of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Dimapur.
The former wicketkeeper-batsman visited the camp, held motivational talks, conducted coaching sessions and had interactive sittings with the young cricketers. He also held meetings with the association and administrators of the game according to a press note from the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA).
More left with the message that there was tremendous talent amongst the young cricketers of the region. He was confident that cricketers from the northeast states would be representing India sooner than later. He was highly impressed with the cricketing abilities of the youngsters and observed that they were no lesser than anybody else.
More, who was also once the chairman of the selection committee, hoped that with better facilities, more exposure and professional training, the young players would reach the highest standards of the game.
More also complimented the NCA for their tireless efforts towards promotion and development of the game. While expressing surprise at the presence of excellent cricket facilities, he stated that the infrastructure and facilities at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium and the Nagaland Cricket Academy were laudable and has the potential to become amongst the best in the country.
He committed to revisit Nagaland and hoped that he will be able to continue to contribute towards the development of the game at the grassroots, especially in new areas, which are more challenging yet more fulfilling.
