Police and forensic experts visit survivor's residence in Kiphire as investigation into alleged rape case continues with evidence collection

KIPHIRE — Investigation into the alleged rape of an elderly woman in Kiphire gathered pace on Thursday as police and forensic experts visited the survivor’s residence to collect evidence and record statements from witnesses.
According to official sources, the investigation team reached the victim’s residence at around 7 am and recorded the statements of the survivor, her family members and other witnesses as part of the ongoing probe.

A forensic team also inspected the scene, collected necessary evidence and conducted scientific examination at the location before concluding its work at around 11.50 am.
Officials said that further procedural formalities connected with the investigation are underway, adding that the probe remains in progress as authorities continue to gather evidence.
