: Kiphire is the only district in Nagaland that has not detected any Covid-19 positive case till date even as the state’s tally soared to 3,118 as on August 12.

Longleng, which has recorded three Covid-19 cases, is also currently coronavirus-free as all the patients have recovered.

An official informed Eastern Mirror that 397 returnees have been tested on TrueNat in Kiphire and all the results have returned negative so far. So, no Covid patient has been admitted in the District Hospital which has been converted to Covid hospital.

The source updated that the district Covid hospital has 19 isolation beds, four ventilators and four ICU beds. ‘We shifted our facility to the old building, which is adjacent to the new building, where we are treating the general patients,’ the source added.

The old building has been functioning as the general hospital after the new building was converted to Covid hospital. It was informed that TrueNat testing is being done at the new building as no positive case patient has been admitted in the facility till now.

Another source informed that the facility quarantine centre currently has 11 returnees and more people are expected to come. The church organisation has been preparing food and providing other facilities for the returnees since the facility quarantine was set up, it was informed.

Till date, there is no official order regarding paid quarantine and so we will be taking care of the returnees till such an order comes, the source added.
