Kiphire board clears February agenda for district

Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) for the month of February was held on February 20 with tribal organisations of the district, in the deputy commissioner’s office conference hall, in Kiphire.
The government bulletin DIPR stated in its Wednesday updates that the board reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting. It discussed matter about opening a new primary school at Threntsuvong. The officials ‘approved to write to the concerned department for consideration,’ the DIPR stated.
Discussions were also held ‘to improve road conditions’ in Kiphire district.
Further, the board officials discussed matters about improvement of the health sector “including writing to the concern department to provide new ambulance for Kiphire health sector.”

The, the board ‘unanimously agreed to write to the concerned department to construct block development officer offices at Khongsa under Kiphire.’
The board also ‘agreed to forward the agenda’ by minister Soil & Water Conservation ‘for developmental work including blacktopping the USLBA retreat centre road of two kilometres,’ the DIPR stated.

During the meeting, the deputy commissioner of Kiphire, M Shayung Phom expressed gratitude to the district officers and tribal organisations ‘for their cooperation during his short stay at Kiphire DC and assured to give his support to the district in whichever way he can.’

The board also deliberated on issues concerning what is being called the “aspirational district” (sic) and its status report. The board has urged the department “be serious in the aspirational district development works,” the DIPR’s updates stated.
