Kiphire begins training in Census 2021 work

Dimapur, March 11 (EMN): Training to prepare officials for Census 2021 has begun. A two-day training programme for district and charge census officers was conducted in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall in Kiphire. The training programme started from March 11 and will continue till March 12th, updates from the IPR stated.

The department of Information and Public relations (IPR), the government publicity agency, gave updates to the media on Wednesday informing about the training programme.

District administrative officers, and district census officers who are charge officers for their respective jurisdictions, among others, attended the event, the IPR stated.

The resource persons for the training were Assistant Director K Rameshwar Singh, Kiphire’s nodal officer Viyovol Chaya, master trainer Chuyalo Kath and Vetacho Nyienu, the IPR reported.

The resource persons gave an introduction of Census 2021, National Population Register, and a glimpse of the census operations, the IPR stated.

Other topics included using mobile apps by enumerator and supervisors, filling various formats, house listing and housing census, roles and responsibilities of the charge, areas to be covered, timeline, methodology, and census management and monitoring system, the IPR stated.
