Kiphire Asha, angawadi workers sensitise villagers about Covid-19

Dimapur, April 23 (EMN): Accredited Social Health Activists (Asha) and anganwadi workers have been carrying out awareness activities to sensitise villagers about Covid-19 infection under Kiphire district.

Asha workers have been playing an active role in villages by reaching out to families through house to house visit and sensitising them about the Covid-19, said the press release from District Media Officer Haichikambe Pame.

They have been visiting 25 households per day, monitoring their wellbeing, wherein, if any suspected cases were detected they refer them to the nearest health units, it informed.

Anganwadi workers have also been carrying out sensitising drive in villages with focus on disseminating the importance of hand washing, cleanliness, social distancing, hygiene, and also emphasising on the etiquette of spitting, coughing, and sneezing.

At the district level, the medical team has been visiting the homes of quarantine persons everyday to assess their wellbeing and to monitor if they are following the guidelines of home quarantine protocol.
