In the final, Zhimo defeated another Boulevard player Togukha Chishi in straight two frames.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Zhimo received a cash prize of INR 20,000 with trophy while got INR 10,000. He also bagged the highest break point award of INR 6,000.
Two semi-finalists Temjenlemba Longchar of Area 51 Kohima and Rukusato Khesoh of Area 147 Kohima, received INR 5,000 each.
The tournament was held on April 21 and the 22nd with 32 players from five clubs of Dimapur and Kohima.
Gracing the closing ceremony, Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman of Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu said snooker is slowly picking up in the state.
Lamenting that snooker is not part of the Olympic Games, Keditsu expressed hope that with snooker associations around the world making efforts, the Olympics Association would accept it soon.
Appreciating CAN for providing a platform to the snooker players, he hoped that players from Nagaland would also be able to make it to the world ranking standards.
He also called upon the players to be sincere and dedicated and focus on one sport in order to excel and become professionals.
