Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Hosting of events during night time on the local ground at Kigwema village under Kohima district will not be a problem anymore as the speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Vikho-o Yhoshu ceremoniously lit up 12 big erected posts with floodlights on Nov. 3 at the local ground commonly known as Khulera by the villagers. It was a delight for the villagers to see the night lit like daytime which would enable activities such as games etc. during the night also.
The NLA speaker, while speaking at a thanksgiving programme organised by the Kigwema youth organisation (KYO) on the completion ‘Flood Lights Project’, congratulated the youth organisation for success of the project. He expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the KYO as they have undertaken such a good project for the welfare of the village community. While wishing them well in their future endeavours, Yhoshu promised to extend his support and help to the organisation for any further developmental project in the future.
The KYO president Vibelie Mera, in his address, said that the youth organisation intends to organise a night bazaar at the local ground during the hornbill festival as an extension of the ‘2018 Hornbill Festival’ on the theme ‘traditional evening part’.
The night bazaar will begin from 4 pm to 8 pm every evening showcasing the traditions and culture with various food items, fineries, household items etc. He said about 40 to 50 stalls will be set up by SHGs and other different groups to showcase and also to promote the locally available products and produce.
The KYO president requested the public to come forward and give support to the youths to boost their morale and encourage them by way of buying their products, food items etc. at the night bazaar during the hornbill festival.
