DIMAPUR — The Kohima District Athletics Association has informed that it will be organising a ‘Kids Athletics Day’ on May 7, at Secretariat Junction, Kohima.
The event will be organised on the theme ‘World Mile Challenge’, as per the directive of the Nagaland Athletics, with the objective to promote athletics’ values and encourage participation among young people, it informed in a press release on Monday.
It also aims to inspire the next generation of athletes, coaches and officials, the press release stated, adding that the Kids Athletics Day will focus on the physical activity, health and wellbeing of all ages and backgrounds.
The association informed that the event will be divided into three categories– 4 to 7 years, 8 to 11 years, and 12 to 14 years, with an entry fee of INR 100.
The first 3 position holders in all three categories will be awarded prizes along with seven consolation prizes in each category.
