Kidnapped taxi driver found murdered

IN a gruesome act, Kohima police today recovered the dead body of a kidnapped taxi driver below the National Highway-29 in between Jakhama and Viswema villages in Southern Angami region.
Police sources revealed that passerby villagers informed about a dead body below the road, which was later brought to South Police Station Kohima at around 7:30 am.On investigation the dead body was identified to be that of a taxi driver Joynul Hussain (28) s/o Abdul Haque of Karimganj, Assam. Sources said that the victim driving a taxi NL0T-8254 was forcefully taken on hire by four persons towards Khuzama. However, he was murdered and thrown below the road by the miscreants while taking away the vehicle.
The entire body of the victim was black and blue with swellings all over while his dress were also torn, sources added.
In process of investigation, Kohima police recovered the stolen vehicle from Jakhama village and also managed to nab one of the accused identified as Tepuseto Sophie from Jakhama village.
The arrested accused on being enquired revealed to the police the names of other three accused as Mengunol Tase, Kehosul Tetso and Huzoto Tetso, an underground cadre. Search for the three accused is in progress, police said.
